Lexi is an independent intimacy director, violence choreographer, and certified theatrical gun wrangler based in New York City.

She has directed intimacy and violence for both stage and film with Steiner Studios, The Drama League, New York University Tisch School of the Arts, The Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema at Brooklyn College, Dixon Place, Three of Cups Theatre Collective, the New York City Fringe Festival, The Brick, and assorted independent films set to premiere at the Buffalo International Film Festival and the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival.

She is also excited to be featured in the upcoming book Performing #MeToo: How Not to Look Away for her work with the National Action Network in 2017 as an intimacy direction advocate and performer with their nationally recognized project #MeToo: From Testimonials to Prevention. She has continued this advocacy work with Theatre Resources Unlimited.

With ongoing training and education from Intimacy Directors International*, the Society of American Fight Directors, a lifetime of movement study, and a fierce pride for human rights, she hopes to continue fostering brave spaces for fearless actors and brilliant creators alike.

Consent comes first. Period.

A collaboration of techniques and values from:

  • Intimacy Directors International*

  • Stage combat and simulated violence (SAFD certified)

  • Sexual Dramaturgy, consisting of interviews and research applicable to the setting of the specific project

  • Mental Health First Aid best practices**

  • Viewpoints

  • Best practices and values put in place by Time’s Up and SAG-AFTRA

Pooling the above resources and much, much more, we can work in a way that prioritizes actor safety and confidence in the telling of a story. We must collaboratively create a space in which “no” is of equal value to “yes”.
